Saving Tate Michaels is the third book in The Isaac Hunt series. The Making of Isaac Hunt and Loving Cee Cee Johnson are the first two books. They were awesome. These wonderful Christian and African American books were written by Linda Leigh Hargrove. She has the ability to help us see and feel their emotions. The first two came out in 2007 and 2008, six years earlier. Saving Tate Michaels was long awaited, but worth the wait. But now they can be read together.
All three books take place in and around the southern town, Pettigrew, NC. The storylines are great. Although each book features a different person Isaac Hunt, Cee Cee Johnson and Tate Michaels they are also cohesive. Each has an identity issue that must be resolved. But with God's help they persevere.
Do you like to be on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. Enjoy a full range of emotions? These books are for you. Please note there are errors, which will hopefully be removed soon. But I praise Linda Leigh Hargrove for her tenacity in completing this series. Would I recommend this series? I thought Saving Tate Michaels was pretty good. It's full of action and drama keeping the reader constantly turning the pages. I really liked the character of Tate. He was believable and I felt as though I knew him. I enjoyed how the author incorporated what was the true meaning of faith, hope, family, forgiveness, redemption, and love.

I really enjoyed this book. This is the third book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. It is a very good mystery that definitely keeps you reading until the final pages. The author also paints a very honest and compelling picture of issues in dealing with racial prejudice. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it won't be my last. I was gifted with a copy of this book by the author for an honest review. It is one I do recommend.
I thoroughly enjoyed Linda Leigh Hargrove's first two books in the Isaac Hunt series and have been looking forward to the third one ever since. It was well worth the wait. Like Stacy Hawkins Adams, Linda has the special ability to write African-American fiction that doesn't have racial boundaries. The story and the characters will draw you in and keep you reading, as they did me. Hurry up and get book four done now, Linda.
This book took me places I have not been before, and it did it very well. Being a cautious person, I was a little hesitant to jump into this very different world, but I am glad I did. I have not yet read the first two books in the series, but I did not need them to follow the saga. The author's very skillful use of dialogue makes the characters come vividly alive, and her gift for storytelling keeps you wanting to know what will happen next. I liked the portrayal of struggles in the Christian life and the mentoring efforts of more mature Christians toward those who were new to the faith. This book made me reflect on my own faith. There are a few minor flaws that a strong editor would probably catch, but the voice of this story is so compelling that I highly recommend it as is. This was a gift copy in return for an honest review.

Waiting for the third book in the Isaac Hunt series was absolutely worth the wait. Linda Leigh Hargrove draws you into the characters' lives from the first page, and keeps you there until the very last page. While you're always aware that you're reading a fictional story, you still feel pulled into the lives of these characters. Saving Tate Michaels is an adventure that holds your attention captive and leaves you wanting to read more. Linda Leigh Hargrove is a true storyteller with a deep passion to share God's love, grace, and forgiveness while still entertaining her readers. I will purchase any and all future books that she writes.
Poor Tate Michaels, he has more issues than Time magazine. He lost his best friend, botched an attempt to stop a spree of hate crimes and human trafficking and got himself fired from the FBI. Was too hard-headed to listen to his Dad's explanation for strife in the family, and lost touch with God. And that was just one day in the life of Tate Michaels.

This is a novel full of action, confrontation, and prayer. I don't usually read "Christian" novels, because they are often too preachy and idealistic. But this one is a page-turner, full of real people with problems they have to take to the Lord, and danger on every side.

Linda Hargrove has a winner with this one.
